Often times, our habitual way of responding to struggle in life is to be hard on oursleves, critical, and self-blaming. We feel isolated in our suffering and uniquely inadequate and flawed.
This only intensifies the suffering and makes us more vulnerable to depression, loneliness, and feelings of shame.

Self-Compassion is about showing kindness to ourselves when we suffer or face a hardship.
Our Shared Humanity
Self-compassion is about treating ourselves with kindness even during our most difficult times.

It is also about connecting ourselves with a larger sense of humanity.
Self-compassion is about recognizing our shared beauty and vulnerability in being human.
